IV Therapy in Huntington Beach
IV therapy is a wellness treatment that delivers fluids, vitamins, minerals and electrolytes directly into your bloodstream through a small catheter in the arm. It is often chosen by healthy adults who want support with hydration, for example after travel, exercise or a demanding week. At CAIR SPA in Huntington Beach, every infusion starts with a health screening so the plan fits you.
What is IV Therapy?
IV (intravenous) therapy places a sterile solution, usually saline or a balanced electrolyte fluid, into a vein so it enters the bloodstream directly. Depending on the plan, the fluid may include ingredients such as B vitamins, vitamin C, magnesium or other nutrients. Because it bypasses the digestive tract, fluid is delivered quickly, which is why IV drips are a common choice for rehydration.
IV therapy is not a substitute for a balanced diet, regular hydration or medical care for an illness. Research on vitamin infusions for general wellness in healthy people is still limited, so we keep expectations realistic: many guests simply enjoy feeling rehydrated and taking a quiet hour for themselves. All services at CAIR SPA are performed under the oversight of Tran Plastic Surgery, led by Dr. Tuan Tran, and each infusion is screened and prepared with your health history in mind.

How IV Therapy works at CAIR SPA
Consultation
We review your health history, medications, allergies and goals. Some conditions, such as certain heart or kidney problems, may mean IV therapy is not a good fit, and we will tell you honestly.
Custom plan
Your provider recommends a fluid and nutrient combination based on your screening. Vital signs are checked before the infusion begins.
Infusion
A small catheter is placed in a vein in your arm and the drip runs while you relax in a comfortable chair. Staff monitor you throughout the session.
Aftercare
The catheter is removed, a small bandage is applied and you can return to your day. We share any aftercare notes and discuss whether future sessions make sense.
Before, during and after
Every plan is personalized. Your provider will walk you through preparation and aftercare at your consultation.
Before
Eat a light meal and drink water beforehand, since being well hydrated can make the vein easier to access. Wear a top with sleeves that roll up easily and bring a list of your current medications and supplements.
During
You will feel a quick pinch when the catheter is placed, then most people feel little beyond a cool sensation in the arm. Some nutrients can cause a brief warm feeling or a taste in the mouth. You can read, rest or use your phone during the drip.
After
Most people return to normal activities right away. Mild bruising or tenderness at the IV site is common and usually fades within a few days. Contact us if you notice spreading redness, swelling or pain at the site.
Expert oversight you can trust
All services are performed under Tran Plastic Surgery. Tran Plastic Surgery is led by Dr. Tuan Tran, who is triple board-certified in plastic, reconstructive and hand surgery, and is located in our building at 20951 Brookhurst St.
How much does IV therapy cost?
The price depends on the plan, including the type of fluid and nutrients your provider recommends. We give you an exact quote at your free consultation, so there are no surprises.
Is there any downtime after an IV drip?
For most people there is no downtime. You can typically drive and return to work or your normal routine right after your session. Minor bruising at the needle site is the most common side effect.
How long do the effects of IV therapy last?
It varies. Hydration effects are often noticed the same day, but how long you feel them depends on your activity, diet and how much water you drink afterward. IV therapy works best as a supplement to healthy daily habits, not a replacement for them.
Does IV therapy hurt?
Most guests describe a brief pinch when the catheter is placed, similar to a blood draw. After that, the infusion itself is usually comfortable. Let us know if you feel any discomfort so we can adjust.
Who is a good candidate for IV therapy?
Healthy adults looking for hydration and wellness support are often good candidates. People with certain heart, kidney or blood pressure conditions, or who are pregnant, may need a different approach. Your provider will review your health history before recommending any infusion.
Is IV therapy safe?
When it is screened, prepared and monitored by trained medical staff, IV therapy is generally well tolerated. Possible risks include bruising, irritation of the vein, infection at the site or, rarely, a reaction to an ingredient. That is why every session at our Huntington Beach location starts with a health review.
